I place patient autonomy at the center of my approach. My role is to provide thoughtful recommendations, information, and perspective—not to tell patients what they should do. I believe the best treatment decisions are made collaboratively, with the patient remaining the ultimate decision-maker in their own care.
I also place a strong emphasis on warmth, understanding, and genuine attention to each patient’s experience. I want patients to feel heard, understood, and respected as individuals, rather than simply viewed through the lens of a diagnosis.
My practice is grounded in current, evidence-based psychiatric knowledge. I make a point of staying up to date with developments in psychiatry so that my recommendations reflect the best available scientific evidence while still being tailored to the individual patient.
Although I do not provide psychotherapy, I am psychoanalytically trained, and that perspective informs my work with every patient. I often offer insights into patterns, relationships, emotions, and underlying motivations when they may help a patient better understand themselves and their circumstances. I can provide referrals to therapists that provide treatment modalities targeted to your needs.
Although I work well with everyone, I have extensive experience working with LGBTQIA+, neurodivergent, perinatal mental health, and men's issues.
